Political Parties are Like Entertainment for the Compliant Sheeple

smiley

Independent voters have long been frustrated over the passionate desire of folks to belong to political parties. Most of these folks are clueless on the issues and a party powwow is rarely anything more than a social event. In the Republican Party, they hold Reagan dinners where the party faithful meet to hurl insults at the 'evil' Democrats. The screeching and accursed accusations include words like socialist, Marxist and commie! Yet, few Republicans comprehend that their own party is very much like a totalitarian thug that embraces socialism, Marxism and communism. When Republicans do the same things that the Democrats do, it's somehow called compassionate conservatism. Bush 43 certainly didn't suffer any blowback from passing No Child Left Behind or  Medicare Part D, a very costly prescription drug entitlement program for seniors.

Medicare Part D is so bad that Reason magazine dubbed it "one of the absolutely biggest pieces of crap legislation" while affirming that "Medicare Part D adds almost $16 trillion to our national indebtedness."  Yet, Republicans were not concerned about creating another costly entitlement or even adding trillions to our mountain of debt.  Republicans only bitch and whine when the Democrats create entitlements.

How is it that Republican socialism is somehow not socialism when they do it?

The blazing hypocrisy of the Republican Party faithful is rarely an issue and indeed the GOP itself definitely breaths a sign of relief when they succeed in churning Republican voters into dumbed down zombie sheeple.  Political parties never deal with reality, just the illusion that their brand of government is somehow better than that of the other party.

Hysterical and apoplectic over Obama spending, the Republicans and Tea Party activists rallied to toss a lot of Democrats out of the House of Representatives in 2010.  The Republicans won 65 seats and now solidly control the House 242-193.

What have the Republicans done with their new power?  They spent more money than the 'commie, Socialist and Marxist' Democrats!  The Tea Party crop of Republican Congress Critters that sailed into the District of Crime in January, 2011 to clean up the Democrat fiscal mess turned out to be bigger deficit spending hawks than the Democrats they replaced, here.

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined.....

The approximately $1.59 trillion in new debt accumulated since the Republican-controlled House gained a veto over federal spending legislation is more than the total increase in the federal debt between 1789, when the first Congress convened, and October 1984, when the 98th Congress was nearing the end of its second session.
During the Bush years, the Republicans added a whopping $5 trillion to the national debt.

Let's be perfectly clear. The Republicans are not only big spenders who are more than willing to bankrupt the nation, they are also frauds at all levels. From the pathetically delusional Republican voters who embrace and elect Republican candidates with an avowed aversion to fiscal conservatism to Republican office holders, they are all socialists, Marxists and commies.

Of course, over on the Democratic side, things are no different.  But at least the Democrats are more honest.  The Democrats are totally upfront about wanting to tax folks to death, steal everything they have and embark on a massive totalitarian redistributionist scheme. The Republicans wallow in the delusion that our government is indeed low tax, pro-business, pro-liberty, anti-commie and anti-big bad government.

What the Democrats do outright, the Republicans do by stealth.
